Is a Sports Physical the Same as a Well-Child Visit?
Not exactly. A sports physical is focused on clearing your child to play. A well-child visit is more comprehensive — it includes developmental screening, immunizations, and broader health counseling. If your child is due for both, we can often combine them into one visit. Just let us know when you schedule.
What Vaccines Are Required for School in Iowa?
Iowa requires that children attending school be up to date on several vaccines, including DTaP, Polio, MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B, among others. We'll review your child's immunization records at the visit and administer any that are needed.
When Should I Schedule?
Don't wait until the week before school starts. Our schedule fills up fast in July and August. We recommend booking your child's physical in June or July to make sure everything is in order before the first day of school — and to leave time for any follow-up if needed.
